E-drug: Mefloquin for malaria prophylaxis (cont)
---------------------------------------------
Markus,
I am not a doctor, I'm just a traveller who has argued with doctors about
malaria prophylaxis. It is my understanding that in the US the standard
reference is the Yellow Book, published by the US Centers for Disease
Control. This tome lists diseases by region, and suggested treatments. I
enclose below the link for malaria in Southern Africa. While it does not
explicitly state a preferred prevention, note that the options are listed
in this order: mefloquine, doxycycline and malarone.

Hope this is useful.
