SENIOR LECTURER IN PHARMACY
Fiji School of Medicine - Suva, FIJI

The Fiji School of Medicine trains health professionals for Fiji and the
other South Pacific islands. The Diploma in Pharmacy is a 3 year full
time course, with approximately 10 graduates annually. The Senior
Lecturer in Pharmacy is the Program Coordinator and teaches in the areas
of Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy Practice.

Applicants for this position should have a Pharmacy degree with relevant
postgraduate qualifications, preferably in Clinical Pharmacy/Pharmacy
Practice. Teaching experience is essential, as are good communication
and organisational skills. Work experience in hospital or community
pharmacy is highly desirable. Work experience in a developing country
would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be highly motivated, and must be committed
to assisting in the ongoing process of improving Pharmacy education in
the Pacific region. You will need to be possess energy and enthusiasm
for this challenging and rewarding position.

Duties
1)	To administer the Diploma in Pharmacy program, which includes
coordination of one full time and numerous part-time teaching staff.
2)	To work with the FSM Pharmacy Advisory Committee to continue to
review and develop the curriculum, with one of the goals being to
produce an accredited Bachelor of Pharmacy course within the next few
years.
3)	To teach as required, mainly in the areas of Clinical Pharmacy,
Pharmacy Practice and related subjects.
4)	To work with the Head of the School of Health Sciences as
required, including participation in research and professional
development activities.

Preferable Starting Date 
Late 1998 

Conditions
The position is for a 3 year (renewable) contract. 
Salary range: F$41,000-60,000 (package)
