-----------------------------------------------------

ASCEPT/APSA Annual Scientific Meetings
13-16 December, 1998
University of Tasmania
Hobart, Tasmania, AUSTRALIA

ASCEPT and APSA are the societies of pharmacologists and toxicologists
(Australasian Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacologists and
Toxicologists) and pharmaceutical scientists (Australasian Pharmaceutical
Sciences Association) in Australia and New Zealand. This year ASCEPT and
APSA will meet together in Hobart, immediately after the Clinical Pharmacy
Conference of the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (SHPA).

The program includes invited speakers and free communications.
Participants come from universities, industry, hospitals and government
laboratories, and include experimental scientists and clinicians.

The Convention Centre is located on the Derwent River, and provides
spectacular views of the river, city and Mount Wellington. There are
several cafes and restaurants nearby. Historic Battery Point and the city
centre are within 3 km, and the University of Tasmania's Sandy Bay campus
is 5-10 minutes walk away. Average temperatures in Hobart in December are
10-20 deg C, and average rainfall is 57 mm. More information on Tasmania
is given at http://www.tas.gov.au/visiting/.
