CENTRE FOR HEALTH POLICY

Senior Researcher in Pharmaceuticals Policy/Systems Research Programme

The Centre comprises a multidisciplinary team affiliated to the Uni-
versity of the Witwatersrand Faculty of Health Sciences, involved in 
independent health research and consultancy in South and Southern 
Africa.

a. QUALIFICATION:
Masters or doctoral degree and/or significant public or private sec-
tor experience in economics, social science, public health or phar-
macy is required, preferably with emphasis on research and policy de-
velopment.

b. DUTIES:
This person is expected to take charge of a new project focused on 
developing new research in the area of pharmaceutical systems, eco-
nomics and policy. The person should be an accomplished researcher 
and show extensive initiative. The individual will be supported by 
strong units focused on research in Health Economics, Health Systems 
and Health policy research. They will also be expected to do some 
teaching.

c. SALARY & BENEFITS:
Negotiable in accordance with University scales plus additional bene-
fits.
