E-drug: Consumers' Guide to Safe, Cost-effective Medicines
------------------------------------------------------------
Dear E-druggers,
The Consumer Institute South Africa is currently assessing the
feasibility of producing a guide to effective and affordable OTC
medicines for ailments such as coughs and colds, diarrhea, headache,
stomach complaints, etc.
Our concern is that many South Africans, especially the poor, spend a
great deal of money on medicines that are either ineffective or even
dangerous.
We aim to produce a popular easy-to-read booklet - which will also
form the basis of a radio campaign.
* Do e-druggers know of similar guides produced elsewhere in the
world?
* Could anyone suggest particularly good references - our starting
point has been 'Problem Drugs' by Andrew Chetley.
* Any other comments or suggestions.
Many thanks,
Elaine Cosser
