Dr Archer,
I believe you have a right to know even if you do not have all these
commendable involvement and qualifications. And for that matter, I am
a Nigerian and I want to know as well. If the military in Nigeria had
listened to our cries for openness about the impending AIDS epidemic
in Nigeria since the days of Professor Kuti, the Nigerian Health Min-
ister under the Babangida military regime, we would not be in the
mess we are in today. I do not see why the health of any nation's se-
curity personnel has to be such a closely guarded secret. We want to
know, we have a right to know, and if anybody has the information,
please share it with us.
