Join more than 500 community and campus leaders to broaden and deepen
our collective understanding of the policies, processes and structures
needed to advance partnerships as a strategy for improving health pro-
fessions education, civic responsibility and the overall health of com-
munities.
Among the major themes to be discussed are:
- Making the case for service-learning in health professions education
- Community-based teaching, research and service as scholarship
- Promoting cross-sector collaborations that improve the health and
well-being of communities
- Financing community-based and interdisciplinary health professions
education
- Community-campus partnerships for community and economic development
- Engaging communities as partners in research
- Improving health access and outcomes in minority populations
- Building skills for advocacy and change
Conference highlights include:
* opening performance by the Capitol Steps comedy troupe
* keynotes by Roz Lasker (confirmed) and David Satcher (invited)
* over 40 workshops, story sessions and critical issues forums
* over 30 posters and exhibits
* briefing sessions that will enable you to interact with key federal
and foundation decision makers
* site visits to community-campus partnership models in the DC area
* the chance to shape a national policy agenda for health
* opportunities to become more involved in CCPH as we launch new mem-
ber-driven topic-specific and regional interest groups
