INDICES: iron supplementation - alternative therapy
---------------------------------------------------

Folks;

Anemia is a serious problem in many tropical diseases. We have just came
through a pandemic malaria situation where far to many patients were
improperly treated with antibiotics instead of anti-malarials. This led to
long term recrudescent malaria in these patients which resulted in severe
anemia. In the cases that reached me, after proper anti-malarial treatment
("Artenam" - Beta artemether) we had to deal with recovery from a severe
anemic condition.

For many years I have found all "modern" pharmaceutical preparations next to
useless in these circumstances. For the past five years I have been using
this recipe --

Chaya Leaf tea (six leaves of Chaya boiled for ten minutes in 1 liter of
rain water) consumed during a 24 hour period.

Shark liver oil -- 12 grams per day -- in three doses of 3 grams -- with
three meals.

Natural Yogurt with bran -- 50 grams of bran, 250 gram of yogurt.

150 ml. of naturally fermented wine per day. (I use an old Mayan recipe for
naturally fermented wine called "Balche". Made by extraction of sugar cane
through boiling and fermenting the resulting liquor. This "wine" is rich in
minerals as well.)

This works extremely well. One female patient going from HGB of 8.5 to 13.5
in just 3 weeks!!

Hope this "high-tech" list is interested in what works as well as what is
"modern" or only FDA approved?

Expect more of such in the future.
