E-drug: Sulfadiazine resistent N. Meningitidis in southern africa?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
On behalf of David Koetsier, MO in Zambia, I would like
to forward the following question:
With chemoprofylaxis of household contacts of a Neisseria meningitidis
case, it is advised to prescribe rifampicin for two days, or
sulfadiazine when the bacteria is not resistent to it.
Do sulfadiazine resistent Neisseria meningitidis bacteria exist in
southern africa (or, more specifically, Zambia) ?
