E-DRUG Treatment of Amoebic dysentry during pregnancy
There has never been any convincing evidence that metronidazole has
teratogenic potential (Schardein pp. 411-14, Briggs et al. IV:585-9).
Though the drug is carcinogenic and teratogenic in animals this has
never been shown in humans.
There are some problems with breast feeding, particularly because the
milk acquires a foul taste.
