E-DRUG Demazin Syrup Response

To date, as far as I'm aware, there are no studies that show any cold
preparations (antihistamine/decongestant combinations) or cough
preparations (DM, codeine etc) work in children under the age of 6. In
contrast 3 studies have shown that they don't work (Randall 1979 in
Pediatrics, Hutton 1991 in J Pediatr, Taylor 1993 in J Pediatr). In
addition, in B.C., cold remedies are involved in approximately 20% of cases
of pharmaceutical overdoses in children less than 4, they are easily
administered incorrectly, and paradoxical reactions have been reported. If
anyone has any information to the contrary please let me know. Thanks.
