Nofuroxazide is the INN. Martindale 31st ed simply states that
nifuroxazide is an antibacterial agent that has been given by mouth in
a dose of 800mg daily in the treatment of colitis and diarrhoea. It is
poorly absorbed from the GI tract.
So then you have all the routine arguments against using an
antibacterial agent as an antidiarrhoeal.
