E-DRUG: Prescrire International at lower price

Prescrire International, the concise, English language version of La 
revue Prescrire, provides a unique source of independent information on 
drugs and other therapeutic interventions. The Association Mieux Prescrire 
(AMP) - which publishes the two journals - is a non-profit organisation 
involved in providing continuous medical education through high quality, 
reliable medical information for health professionals in France and 
internationally.

Although the research involved in producing AMP's independent drug and
therapeutic information is costly, neither Prescrire International nor La
revue Prescrire accept any advertising or outside funding. The 
subscription fees finance in full this valuable publishing venture.

Until now, the high price of Prescrire International has prevented some
health professionals and students from subscribing. Fortunately, because 
of development within the two publications, Prescrire International can 
now be made available at a reduced price. From 1 January 1998, the annual
subscription rate for individuals is reduced by half from US$120 (FF 620)
to only US$60 (FF 310). Students are offered the new, special rate of 
US$38 (FF 200).

Subscriptions from 1 January 1998 are as follows:

Individual rate:  US$   60 FF   310 
Student rate:  US$   38  FF   200 
Commercial companies and institutions  US $ 360 FF 1860 

(An annual subscription covers six issues of Prescrire International plus
an index to issues during the previous five years.)
