E-drug: Ketotifen (cont'd)
---------------------------------------------

Twenty years ago I witnessed much discussion on this drug, rather
heavily fueled by the manufacturer. It never was approved, though, so
it never got to the market in Norway.

Joel writes that there is a latency of 8-12 weeks before effect, and
that it is used in mild asthma. No question about these facts.

But an anti-asthmatic with a latency that long seems useless to me. To
sedate children with mild asthma for 2-3 months to gain a small effect?
Looks like a very poor efficacy to safety ratio. I would say it is a
waste of time and money.
