Quality Assurance Project Launches New Website
----------------------------------------------
Dear Colleague:
The Quality Assurance Project (QAP), an international public health
project funded by the US Agency for International Development, has
launched a new Website at:
http://www.qaproject.org
for public health professionals worldwide. This electronic resource
features state-of-the-art products on quality assurance and provides
a wealth of information to strengthen health services delivery at the
national, regional, and local levels.
In addition to providing these downloadable products and tools on
quality, the site describes QAP interventions in quality design, im-
provement, and control; performance support interventions; standards
development and communication; and regulatory approaches for quality.
It also details QAP work in child health, maternal health, reproduc-
tive health, and infectious diseases.
Each month QAP will add new monographs, operations research summaries
and highlights, technical summaries and highlights, issue papers,
health manager guides, case studies, newsletters, computer-based
training demonstration presentations, and critical issues for deci-
sion makers, in addition to updates on project activities.
Available now is our most recent Quality Assurance Brief, a 36-page
newsletter featuring 10 articles on licensure, accreditation, and
certification. Two of our newly-published Issue Papers, "The Use and
Effect of Computer-Based Training in Health Care" and "The Use of
Manual Job Aids by Healthcare Providers" are also available for you
to download.
Initiated in 1990, QAP is dedicated to improving the quality and ef-
ficiency of healthcare services and to institutionalizing quality as-
surance. The project provides technical support to service delivery
institutions, Ministries of Health, USAID Missions, and field-based
cooperating agencies. QAP is managed by Center for Human Services,
the non-profit affiliate of University Research Co., LLC.
Kindly forward this message to others who may be interested in qual-
ity assurance and in strengthening health services delivery. For
