Dear Friends,

Galillee College, the leading higher education institute in Israel in 
training senior managers from Developing Countries, has expanded its 
TUITION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM to include management training courses in 
several disciplines. More than 2,000 participants world-wide have 
been graduated by the college in the areas of Sr. Port Management, 
Small Businesses and Industries, Tourism Management and Development, 
Health Systems Management, Environmental Management, and Urban Eco-
nomic Development, and our newest offering: The Management of NGO's. 
     
In order to strengthen existing friendships and forge new links for 
the future, the College's International Scholarship Committee has es-
tablished a limited number of FULL TUITION SCHOLARSHIPS for qualified 
applicants to courses being held Jan. 26 - Feb. 14, 1998.

Qualified candidates for the course must be college graduates, citi-
zens of their country, proficient in English and currently working in 
or with experience in their respective fields of management.
     
Galillee College management training courses focus on strategy and 
policy formulation. The role of the senior manager is examined in 
depth. The characteristics, opportunities and problems of leadership 
are described and analysed.
     
Course appropriate study tours and weekend excursions are an integral 
and exciting part of the curriculum.

Below please find an outline of the course which we hope you will 
find of great interest and value:
     
Health Systems Management - Participants review and analyse the wide 
range of challenges encountered in health systems management at sev-
eral levels, examining advanced techniques and strategies available 
for approaching these problems and dealing with them in their various 
aspects. The programme brings together senior health managers and 
policy makers whose responsibilities involve allocation of resources, 
development of policies and leadership, formulation of strategies, 
and evaluation of feasibility studies. The program focuses on the in-
tensive and systematic study of critical management, planning and 
policy issues faced by senior managers, and on methods of coping with 
the particular health and medical environment met with in their day 
to day work. The programme is suitable both for medical and non-
medical personnel in senior administrative positions.

PROGRAMME OF STUDY
     
The course comprises 8 academic study hours per day, five days per  
week, including appropriate study tours. The total number of hours 
for each course is 150.
     
Weekly excursions to historic, religious and archaeological sites in 
Israel are included in the programme.
     
LOCATION
The courses will be held at the Galillee College Study Center at Beit 
Oren Guest house on Mt. Carmel, near Haifa.
     
FEES (ALL TUITION FEES WAIVED FOR SCHOLARSHIP PARTICIPANTS)
     
Tuition - US$3,470       Local Expenses - US$2,765 - to be covered by
                                          applicant or organisation 
     
A limited number of tuition scholarships will be available to quali-
fied candidates in 1998. Requests for additional scholarships may be 
submitted by candidates to national and international organisations 
and/or non-governmental agencies.
     
Local expense fees cover: accommodation and full board (based on dou-
ble occupancy), airport transfers and all local transportation, study 
materials, study tours, medical insurance, weekly excursions, etc.
     
These fees do not include airfare to and from Israel.
     
DIPLOMA
Upon successful completion of the course and examinations, a diploma 
in the respective course will be awarded by Galillee College.
